Methodist Academies and Schools Trust

The Methodist Academies and Schools Trust was created to enable the Methodist Church to discharge its duty as a provider of education.

In all that it does, MAST will relate directly to the principles and foundation of the Methodist Church.

MAST has been conferred with the capacity to sponsor academies that need to be supported to improve and can also act as an umbrella or Multi Academy Trust (MAT) where one or more schools would like to work directly with the Methodist Church.

Objectives of MAST:

  • Facilitate high quality education in Methodist and Joint Methodist Schools in England.
  • Promote 'Methodist' principles in education through spiritual development opportunities and worship, school ethos provision and Religious Education; Key Methodist Principles of Education can be summarised in Wesley's words:

'Go not where you are needed, but where you are needed most'.

'Do all the good that you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, at all the times you can, as long as ever you can, to all the people you can.'
