“Churches’ Commitments to Children”, a living resource for the ecumenical commitment to child wellbeing

The World Council of Churches advocates for children's well-being through a variety of projects at local, national and global levels. Being present - and often  the gathering point - in rural and urban communities, churches have a unique position to influence society at all levels, from parents and school teachers to decision makers in public and private sectors.

How can churches use their influence to improve children's lives?

The WCC led a broad consultative process among member churches and partners about the question "How can churches use their influence to improve children's lives"? This process was initiated by the Commission of Churches on International Affairs and included theologians, child rights experts and children themselves. It led to the "Churches' Commitments to Children", an open invitation and living resource for the ecumenical commitment to child wellbeing.
