'The Times' Preacher of the Year serves Methodist church

The minister of Trinity Methodist Church and United ReformedChurch in Sutton, Rev Martin Camroux, has become TheTimes Preacher of the Year.

Martin, 54, was ordained a URC minister in 1975 having trainedat Mansfield College. His first church was Freemantle, Southampton,between1975-1999 and since then he has served Trinity Church,Sutton, Surrey, in the London South West Methodist District.

He won the £1,500 first prize at the final of the annualcompetition organised by The Timesnewspaper and held yesterdayat the Regent Hall, Oxford Street, London. His sermon, which sawoff four other Christian and Jewish finalists, was on the theme oftolerance for others
