All We Can and Y Care International announce new partnership

Covid-19 has thrown into sharp focus the many injustices which shape our world. Vaccine inequality, gender injustice and youth unemployment have all risen sharply as a result of the pandemic. So there has never been a better time for organisations to come together to tackle these challenges.

That’s why All We Can has entered into a formal a partnership with Y Care International, the relief and development agency of the YMCA in England and Wales, Scotland and Ireland. United by our commitment to work with talented change-makers rooted in local communities, our shared faith, and our drive fearlessly to challenge poverty and injustice, the union of All We Can and Y Care International will help to enable millions of people across the globe to see their potential fulfilled.

Y Care International was founded by humanitarian Terry Waite, together with National Council of England members, John Naylor and David Bedford – a Methodist local preacher. Today, the charity supports international youth and community focused development and emergency programmes. They seek to help marginalised young people and their communities gain the skills and employment opportunities needed to embrace a better future.

All We Can and Y Care began discussing and sharing experiences about partnership approaches more than two years ago, and then started to explore ways of collaborating and working more closely together earlier this year.  Y Care International will remain a separate charitable body, but all its services will be fulfilled by All We Can. Its staff will join All We Can’s small and friendly team, and together, we will work towards the mission of both charities. 

All We Can’s dedicated supporters will find that everything they know and love about our work will remain the same. However, joining together with Y Care International will allow us to invite more talented organisations and churches to engage with our innovative, locally-led partnership approach. It also allows for greater collaboration during humanitarian emergencies – meaning that together, we can respond quickly and effectively in times of urgent need.
