Death and dying

The subject of death and dying is a difficult and, for some, disturbing one; and yet death is an inevitable part of everyone’s life. It is also deeply individual: experiences will differ in so many ways.

These pages cannot begin to capture every aspect or answer every question, but seek to give useful starting points and links to other online material. They are intended for all, not just for Christians, but in the face of death and grief the Christian faith has something distinctive and hopeful to offer, which is reflected in some of the materials. The resources are grouped into eight topics (below) and each section also includes one or more Personal view pieces by both Methodist and other contributors, giving their individual perspectives on a related theme. Some of them have also made suggestions for further reading which appear in a short bibliography that makes no claim to be comprehensive.
