Supporting volunteers
Volunteers play a vitally important role in the life of the church and help to create and shape our mission
We look here at how we can make the most of the contribution and the gifts they offer
Terminology is an important issue here, as volunteers do not have the same legal/contractual status as a paid lay employee. For example, we talk about role descriptions rather than job descriptions and we talk about volunteer reviews rather than appraisals.
Feedback is vital when working with volunteers, here is a short video outlining clear steps to take when giving and receiving feedback
