Contactless and Online Donations
Dona is an organisation that provides our churches with a way of collecting donations via card payment. Dona provides contactless donation terminals for churches and charities to fundraise and has helped them raise over £20 million in donations. Their system fully supports Gift Aid.
In addition to the contactless donation terminals, Dona offer a free Online Donations Webpage to all Methodist churches. It’s quick and easy to setup - you just need to complete this registration form - http://signup.mydona.com/
After you have signed-up you will be sent a link to your donation page (this can take up to 48 hours) and you can then start to collect donations. You will also receive an information pack that tells you how to track your donations and how to make the best use of the donation page.
Donations Page
The donation page can be embedded on your website or you can share the link to it, for example, via email, WhatsApp, social media or your newsletter.
Gift Aid
The webpage fully supports Gift Aid and works across all devices (desktops, laptops, tablets and mobiles). All major credit and debit cards are accepted including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro.
Payment Processing Fee
Contactless card donations are subject to a processing fee of 1.5% and the fee for online donations is 1.95%. These are specially discounted rates for The Methodist Church in Britain. Funds raised are paid directly into your church bank account.
