“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Dear brothers and sisters in the ecumenical family,
Ecumenical greetings from the All Africa Conference of Churches.
We deeply concerned about the growing tension and danger in Ethiopia as the military continues operations in the Tigray Region where thousands of people are affected and devastated in one way or the other. We have continued to follow media reports and other platforms of information sharing where we have heard of killing and massive displacement forcing many citizens to take refuge outside their homes, including in a neighbor country of Sudan. We are called into the mission of God to work for peace, and to advocate and sustain
the vision of the fullness of life.
In solidarity with the millions of innocent people of Ethiopia, we invite you to commit the
nation of Ethiopia in prayers. Please pray for:
May the God of life hear our petitions and supplications for Ethiopia, Amen.
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for
all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in
all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
