A Thank You from the Methodist Church in Puerto Rico

When Hurricane Maria struck the Caribbean in September 2017, the Methodist Church in Puerto Rico was one of our most badly affected partners. The entire island was hit, with power cuts that lasted for months, parts of the country that were cut off from all communication for weeks, a crisis in medical care provision and a shortage in food and water, not to mention the devastating damage to infrastructure and the over 3,000 deaths the hurricane is estimated to have caused.

The Methodist Church in Britain was able to send a solidarity grant of £10,000 to the Methodist Church in Puerto Rico, as well as support the United Methodist Committee on Relief’s (UMCOR) relief and recovery work on the island through our Caribbean Hurricane Appeal. For information on how your generous donations have been used, please see this video (https://drive.google.com/file/d/14ny-Edr6u6vWMbCj89fGjSMtPCsav3a8/view?usp=sharing) , and please read this thank you letter and poster from the Methodist Church in Puerto Rico to the Methodist Church in Britain.
