Methodist Church in Tanzania find water with the support of the World Mission Fund

Climate change is affecting the world in many ways and last year Andrew Ashdown, Methodist Church in Britain partnership coordinator for Africa wrote a blog describing the situation of drought for one village in Tanzania.  In response to the situation for Nyashimba village the Methodist Church in Tanzania chose to act to bring change.

By making use of support from the World Mission Fund, the Methodist Church in Tanzania have been able to drill a borehole to provide water for the village.  Bishop Leopold Ndaki, leader of the Methodist Church in Tanzania reports:

l would like to inform you of the borehole progress. After we had completed drilling, they made a survey and a lot of water was available at school ground and the school owner agreed to offer land for a borehole. It is a such of blessing to get a lot of water, be blessed for your efforts through the Lord for this support of water in this village.

The church is now constructing a tank to store water for further use. This water will provide for drinking, washing, sanitation and irrigation of crops in a context where the rains have failed for the last 3 years.

We give thanks for the work of the Methodist Church in Tanzania and the support they have to do this work through your kind donations to the World Mission Fund.
