New for 2021 - 3gen Global Church Youth Reps

3Generate has recently appointed two Global Church Youth Reps who will encourage more youth participation in MCB’s global relationships. Liddy Buswell and Meg Haslam will be linking with Global Relationships, making connections with young people around the world, and finding ways to involve children and young people in Britain with what they are learning and doing.

Here they introduce themselves:

Hello! I’m Liddy, I’m 22, I live in Newcastle and I currently work for Darlington District. I graduated last year with a Modern Languages degree, and I was lucky enough to spend time in Peru, France and Germany as part of my studies. Getting to experience Christian (and Methodist!) communities abroad really sparked an interest in the world church for me. I’m also passionate about youth participation, so I’m super excited to be in this role and to share my love of all things international with other young people.

My name is Meg and I’m currently on the Gap Year at Cliff College. I am excited to be a Global Church Youth Rep and I have already enjoyed discussions with members of the Global Relationships team about how we can connect young people in Britain with the wider Methodist Church. I find international and intercultural relations fascinating and will be starting a degree in Modern Languages and Cultures in September - I’m looking forward to seeing how this can relate to my position as Global Church Rep.

If you want to organise a virtual visit to your youth group get in touch with Phoebe the youth president, and do specify if you want a Global Church Rep to be there!
