The death of the head of church of the National Primitive Evangelical Methodist Church of Guatemala (IENMPG).

Revd Adán René de León Hernández died on 24 April 2021 from COVID related health complications. We mourn alongside his family and the church and thank God for his life. He loved God with all his heart and sought to encourage the inclusive leadership of women in the church.

Please join us in praying for his family and the church in Guatemala:

Dear Lord,

You say in your word that we ought to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.

We weep now with our brothers and sisters in Guatemala, as they mourn the loss of their president, Revd Adán René de León Hernández.

We pray especially for his family. Please comfort his widow, their grown up children and the wider family as they come to terms with this loss. Please surround them with your love and tenderness as you comfort their souls. Encourage them with the promise that they will one day meet one another again in your holy presence.

We pray for the church, who have lost their President. We thank you for Revd Hernández’s ministry and leadership of the church for the last two years. We thank you for his legacy of work in making leadership more inclusive to women in the church. We ask that you strengthen the church’s Executive Committee as it comes to terms with this loss and leads the church through this time of mourning. We thank you, Lord Jesus, that you are their Good Shepherd who leads them always.
