Good Practice Guidance
The Methodist Church Safeguarding Policy (Section 3) contains the code of safe working practices with children and young people. Download it here.
A separate-to-download appendix to the Policy offers advice on safer working practice when managing children's activities. Download it here.
Information on organising events and other sessions
The Organising Events resource has consent forms and risk assessment templates for day events and residentials. Find resource here.
Social Media Guidance
Social media can be an excellent way to communicate. There are a variety of platforms that leaders need to be aware of, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp and YouTube. Some of these are appropriate for supporting the relationship between children/young people and their leader, but some are not. Click here for a guidance document covering all of these.
