Following further communication with Government officials, the decision has been made to allow Church Councils to meet in person to fulfil their legal duty, but only if it is reasonably necessary, and there are no alternative options. It is therefore still strongly recommended that church councils meet remotely if they can. Please refer to the safety precautions listed in the Guidance for Church Councils. As part of the Government’s roadmap, this situation is under constant review and therefore please refer back to this page regularly for updates.
