Extension of the Charities (Exception from Registration) Regulations 1996

Methodist charities with gross annual incomes under £100,000 in England and Wales are ‘excepted’ from registration with the Charity Commission. The Regulations which provide for this exception were set to end on 31 March 2021 and many churches and Circuits have been asking us what plans were being made to prepare for registration of all our ‘excepted’ charities after that date. The Government and Charity Commission have now confirmed that the Regulations will be extended for ten years, until 31 March 2031. You can find out more information here.
