Mental Health Awareness Week – 9–15 May 2022
This week marks Mental Health Awareness week, which will run from the 9 to 15 May and this year’s theme is loneliness.
We have seen over the last couple of years how our lives have drastically changed in the way we work and the way we connect with others. Through the pandemic not being able to see friends and families and loved ones face to face, not being able to attend certain groups had a huge impact on us. Whilst we are able to meet and socialise with others this does not mean that loneliness has gone away. Loneliness can affect anyone at any time and can creep into all aspects of our lives affecting our mental and physical wellbeing.
The focus on loneliness aims to highlight how reaching out to people to make connections and finding strategies to combat loneliness can have a positive impact on our mental wellbeing.
