Every Holy Week and Easter brings us face to face with the themes of violence, powerlessness, lament, the tension between crying for justice and loving our enemies, and hope emerging from the ruins.

It’s one thing to speak about these from a position of safety, but this year we are closer to these realities than we have been previously.
