Ensure that the right mix of people continue to be involved in decision-making i.e. a good balance between church and community, paid staff, volunteers and users. Be sure to be clear about who makes decisions both during the project and once the building work is completed. You need feedback from all these groups to ensure you pick up on problems and suggestions for improvements in good time. Whatever you do, don’t let your project be dependent on one person who then collapses with exhaustion.
Be sure to include the partners that you are working with in the stakeholder plan as it is key to keep good communication with these partners.
As well, it is worth planning how the project will be organised and sustainable in the long-term. Refer back to the information given in Step 2 of the Partnerships Pathways about governance.
