Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds. (vs 1-2)

'All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.' (v. 43)

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. (v. 1)

John the baptizer appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. (v. 4)

They named him Obed; he became the father of Jesse, the father of David. (v. 17)

She said, ‘Please, let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the reapers.’ (v. 7)

'Where you go I will go; where you lodge, I shall lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.' (v. 16)

Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. (v. 11)

.. for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. (vs 4-5)

A bruised reed he will not break, and a smouldering wick he will not snuff out. (42:3)

He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognise him. (v. 10)

No one who denies the Son has the Father; everyone who confesses the Son has the Father also. Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you will abide in the Son and in the Father. (vs 23-24)
