If your enemies are hungry, give them bread to eat; and if they are thirsty, give them water to drink; for you will heap coals of fire on their heads, and the LORD will reward you. (vs. 21-22)

These are other proverbs of Solomon that the officials of King Hezekiah of Judah copied. (v. 1)

by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. (v. 3-4)

He said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ (vv. 30-31)

A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favour is better than silver or gold. (v. 1)

Who can say, ‘I have made my heart clean; I am pure from my sin’? (v. 9)

'And his master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the children of this age are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than are the children of light.' (v. 8)
