“I know your works; you have a name for being alive, but you are dead. Wake up and strengthen what remains and is on the point of death, for I have not found your works perfect in the sight of my God.” (vs. 1-2)

These are the words of him who has the sharp two-edged sword. (v. 12)

“Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches.” (v. 7, 11)

'I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. (v. 8)

'For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.' (v. 11)

Therefore take up the whole armour of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. (v. 13)

Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. (v. 21)

Though Herod wanted to put him to death, he feared the crowd, because they regarded him as a prophet. (v. 5)

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children, and live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (5:1-2)

But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knitted together by every ligament with which it is equipped, as each part is working properly, promotes the body's growth in building itself up in love. (vs. 15-16)

I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (vs.18-19)

When he said this, all his opponents were put to shame. (v. 17)
