My brothers and sisters, do you with your acts of favouritism really believe in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ? (v. 1)

When the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. (v. 22)

But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves. (v. 22)

Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights. (v. 17)

… You know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. (v. 3)

‘Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.' (v. 3)

The Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shake. But the Lord is a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel. (v. 16)

You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame. You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I, the Lord, am your God and there is no other.And my people shall never again be put to shame. (vs 26-27)

Return to the Lord, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and relents from punishing. (v. 13)

They only heard it said, ‘The one who formerly was persecuting us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy.’ And they glorified God because of me. (vs 23-24)

To you, O Lord, I cry. For fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and flames have burned all the trees of the field. Even the wild animals cry to you because the watercourses are dried up, and fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness. (vs 19-20)

Hear this, O elders, give ear, all inhabitants of the land! Has such a thing happened in your days, or in the days of your ancestors? (v. 2)
