When some Midianite traders passed by, they drew Joseph up, lifting him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for 20 pieces of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt. (v. 28)

Then he said, 'Let me go, for the day is breaking.' But Jacob said, 'I will not let you go, unless you bless me.' So he said to him, 'What is your name?' And he said, 'Jacob.' Then the man said, 'You shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel.' (vs 26-28)

Then Jacob woke from his sleep and said, 'Surely the Lord is in this place – and I did not know it!' And he was afraid and said, 'How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.' (vs 16-17)

Then his father Isaac said to him, 'Come near and kiss me, my son.' So he came near and kissed him, and he smelled the smell of his garments and blessed him and said, '… blessed be everyone who blesses you!' (vs 26-27, 29)

The Lord the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my birth and who spoke to me and swore to me, ‘To your offspring I will give this land.' (v. 7)

Abraham rose up from beside his dead and said to the Hittites, 'I am a stranger and an alien residing among you; give me property among you for a burying place, so that I may bury my dead out of my sight.' (vs 3-4)

Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation say evermore, 'God is great!' (Psalm 70:4)

And Abraham looked up and saw a ram, caught in a thicket by its horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. (v. 13)

But Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, playing with her son Isaac. (v. 9)

So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the Plain, God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had settled. (v. 29)

So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, 'After I have grown old, and my husband is old, shall I have pleasure?' (v. 12)
