Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him. So Jesus asked the twelve, 'Do you also wish to go away?' (vs 66-67)
'I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.' (v. 51)
Jesus answered them, ‘Do not complain among yourselves. No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent me; and I will raise that person up on the last day.' (vs 43-44)
‘Very truly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’ (vs 32-33)
At that time Jesus said, 'I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants.' (v. 25)
'The Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing; and he will show him greater works than these, so that you will be astonished.' (v. 20)
So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them; and he stayed there two days. And many more believed because of his word. (vs 40-41)
