'I am the living bread, which came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread, which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.' (v. 51)

'Do not labour for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man will give you.' (v. 27)

A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that testify on my behalf. Yet you refuse to come to me to have life. (vs. 39–40)

The Father judges no one but has given all judgement to the Son, so that all may honour the Son just as they honour the Father. Anyone who does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent him. (vs. 22–23)

'And whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple – truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.' (v. 42)
