Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes. (v. 1)

'And you will be hated by all because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.' (v. 13)

Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name. (vs 30-31)
