The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom; like the crocus, it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing… and the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing. (vs 1-2, 10)

He will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and grain, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous. On that day, your cattle will graze in broad pastures and the oxen and donkeys that till the ground will eat silage which has been winnowed with shovel and fork. On every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water… (vs 23-25)

In Christ, we have (also) obtained an inheritance, having been destined according to the purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to his counsel and will, so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, might live for the praise of his glory. (vs 11-12)

We have a strong city, he sets up victory like walls and bulwarks. Open the gates so that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. Those of a steadfast mind you keep in peace – in peace because they trust in you. (vs 1-3)

A shoot shall come out from the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots…On that day the root of Jesse shall stand as a signal to the peoples; the nations shall inquire of him, and his dwelling shall be glorious. (vs 1, 10)

Then the people of Jerusalem and all Judea were going out to him, and all the region along the Jordan, and they were baptised by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. (vs 5-6)

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel. (v. 14)

And one called to another and said: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.' (v. 3)

O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord! (v. 5)

When Jesus turned and saw them following, he said to them, 'What are you looking for?' (v. 38)

Learn to do good; seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphan, plead for the widow. (v. 17)
