Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. There he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife, Priscilla, because Claudius had ordered all Jews to leave Rome … Every Sabbath (Paul) would argue in the synagogue and would try to convince Jews and Greeks. (vs. 1-2, 4)

'… I see how extremely religious you are in every way. For as I went through the city and looked carefully at the objects of your worship, I found among them an altar with the inscription "To an unknown god." What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.' (v. 22b-23)

… when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children. (vs.4-5)

'Now they know that everything you have given me is from you, for the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.' (vs. 7-8)
