A voice cries out:
 ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord,
 make straight in the desert a highway for our God.’ (v. 3)

Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
 and they shall name him Emmanuel,
 which means, ‘God is with us.’  (v. 23)

'For the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.' (v. 49)

'Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.' (v. 42)

Nothing will be impossible with God. (v. 37)

'The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them.' (v. 5)

The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom; like the crocus, it shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing… and the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing. (vs 1-2, 10)

He will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground, and grain, the produce of the ground, which will be rich and plenteous. On that day, your cattle will graze in broad pastures and the oxen and donkeys that till the ground will eat silage which has been winnowed with shovel and fork. On every lofty mountain and every high hill there will be brooks running with water… (vs 23-25)
