The Lord the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my birth and who spoke to me and swore to me, ‘To your offspring I will give this land.' (v. 7)

Abraham rose up from beside his dead and said to the Hittites, 'I am a stranger and an alien residing among you; give me property among you for a burying place, so that I may bury my dead out of my sight.' (vs 3-4)

Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation say evermore, 'God is great!' (Psalm 70:4)

And Abraham looked up and saw a ram, caught in a thicket by its horns. Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. (v. 13)

But Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, playing with her son Isaac. (v. 9)

So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the Plain, God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had settled. (v. 29)

So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, 'After I have grown old, and my husband is old, shall I have pleasure?' (v. 12)

'This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.' (v. 10)

Now the Lord said to Abram, 'Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.' (v. 1)

'Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.' (v. 10)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (v. 8)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. (vs 1-2)
