church-action-on-poverty-logo-01To mark 40 years of Church Action on Poverty in 2022, the charity is teaming up with the Iona Community’s Wild Goose Resource Group to publish an anthology of prayers, worship material and creative writing.

The book’s three sections will explore the themes of dignity, agency and power. Some content will be suitable for individual reading and reflection, some suitable for use in church worship and prayer.

The editors are looking for individual items up to 500 words long – for example:

  • Prayers
  • Liturgies
  • Short reflections
  • Sermon notes
  • Songs and hymns
  • Poems
  • Retellings of Bible stories
  • Original stories
  • Drama (either original drama, or versions of Bible stories)

For more information, read this invitation to submit content – including information about writing workshops. Deadline for all submissions: 31 August 2021.
