This week's theme: The Way of the Kingdom
The day was drawing to a close, and the twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside, to lodge and get provisions; for we are here in a deserted place.” But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” (vs 12-13)
Then Jesus called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. (vs 1-2)
Then Jesus went home; and the crowd came together again, so that they could not even eat. When his family heard it, they went out to restrain him, for people were saying, "He has gone out of his mind." And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebul, and by the ruler of the demons he casts out demons." (vs 20-21)
... and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast devotion. (vs 22-23)
“I have also acquired Ruth the Moabite, the wife of Mahlon, to be my wife.” (v. 10)
They named him Obed; he became the father of Jesse, the father of David. (v. 17)
She said to her, “All that you tell me I will do.”(v. 5)
When she got up to glean, Boaz instructed his young men, “Let her glean even among the standing sheaves, and do not reproach her.” (v. 15)
Then she fell prostrate, with her face to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favour in your sight, that you should take notice of me, when I am a foreigner?” (v. 10)
But Ruth said, “Do not press me to leave you or to turn back from following you! Where you go, I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God my God." (v.16)
Then he said to them, “The sabbath was made for humankind, and not humankind for the sabbath; so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath.” (vs 27-28
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. (v. 13a)
