This week is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (18 th -25 th ) and the Epistle addresses disunity in the Church. The Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) theme this year is ’Crossing Barriers’ and the Ecumenical service takes its theme from 2 Corinthians 5: 14-20 , which speaks of 'Reconciliation – the love of Christ compels us'. The other readings in the service are listed below.
