A prayer for the 21st anniversary year of An Anglican-Methodist Covenant

Gracious God,
Your Son Jesus has called us to be his friends and in friendship to love one another.
We pray that we might recognise and grasp all opportunities to grow closer to one another in your name.
In this anniversary year, we thank you for the Anglican-Methodist Covenant in which we have committed ourselves to realise more deeply our common life and mission.
We pray that maturity and familiarity will not engender complacency but renewed enthusiasm to grow in Christ, together seeking the transformation of the world.
In penitence for our continued division and in hope for the future together, We pray in the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit,
