See Differently. Serve Differently.

Aged 20-30? The Global Mission Fellows programme might be for you. It is a great opportunity to serve in another country, to live out your faith and develop as a leader committed to justice and peace.

The Global Mission Fellows programme is recruiting for its 2023-25 international track (deadline 12 January). Successful applicants would take up their placements from September 2023 onwards, following a period of training in July.  You can find out more and apply directly here. This will take you to the Global Ministries website of the United Methodist Church who administer the GMF programme. There you will find a timeline for recruitment, FAQs and materials to help you discern if the programme is the right thing for you.

Please also contact us (Global Relationships) at gr.admin@methodistchurch.org.uk to let us know of your interest. We would be delighted to chat with you and answer any questions you may have. In the meantime we advise you to look at and begin the application process as soon as possible. It involves reflecting on a number of questions and will take some time to complete. We look forward to hearing from you!

Aged 20-30? The Global Mission Fellows programme might be for you. It is a great opportunity to serve in another country, to live out your faith and develop as a leader committed to justice and peace. The 2-year programme is open to graduate-level (or equivalent) young adults from Britain, Ireland and around the world. If your application is successful, you will train with other Global Mission Fellows then take up a placement with a church or Christian organisation engaged in social justice in a country different from your own. Through regular supervision, reviews and mid-term training you will be encouraged to reflect on and learn from your experience, and to live out the programme’s three core values:

  • Engage with the community
  • Connect the church in mission
  • Grow in personal and social holiness

The Methodist Church in Britain (MCB) is running Global Mission Fellows in partnership with the United Methodist Church (UMC). Fellows receive a living allowance in line with the programme’s “simple living” ethos and are provided with local accommodation. Most costs are covered by the programme, with the expectation that Fellows fundraise a contribution each year.

Interested in receiving a Global Mission Fellow?  We are looking for Circuits and Districts who would like to participate in this exciting programme by offering a social justice placement to a Global Mission Fellow from another country. They would be with you for up to 22 months, contributing their skills and gifts in local mission service, bringing cross-cultural encounter and connection to the world church. You would accompany them in their faith journey and leadership development, helping them to grow in their commitment to justice and the global church.
